Where is my local rainbows

You can find registration links by clicking the registration button in the respective sections below. Rainbows are for girls aged 5 — 7 years old and they follow a fun filled active programme call The Rainbow Jigsaw. The aim of the Rainbow Jigsaw is to enable girls to develop in all four areas. Look — we encourage girls to look around them and learn about their own environment, each other and their community. We also help them understand that they are part of a wider world and learn about festivals from other cultures.

Learn — Rainbows learn through a range of activities — such as crafts, recipes, games and visiting interesting places. They might get talks by local causes or visits from police officers and other professionals and experts. Laugh — Rainbows have lots of fun. Their meetings involve games, songs, parties, celebrations, making a mess and maybe their very first sleepover!

I have received a few thank yous from some of our parents who have said that their daughters cannot wait to start to work through the pack which is lovely to hear. As a volunteer I am able to help girls to experience something similar and to grow in confidence and independence. It is so rewarding and brings a sense of achievement when a Brownie simply says 'Thank you Brown Owl for being my Brown Owl'. I have made some life-long friendhips and developed new skills that help me everyday in my life outside of Girlguiding.

I really enjoyed the challenge and tried lots of things I would not have done otherwise. I get to see all my friends and if you are upset they will make you laugh. I love making stuff and making new friends from different schools. My leaders are so kind. I really enjoy seeing how our guides gain confidence and even face fears through some of the activities and challenges they set themselves. Knowing I am a part of that is a real privilege".

As well as the seven pathways, you can access learning and achieve awards. And for when you just want to socialise, there's a range of fun opportunities to make new friends and catch up with old ones.

Girlguiding UK welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities. You could choose to volunteer with any of the sections, or you may have a more specialist skill or interest that you would like to share. Helping girls achieve their potential is hugely rewarding.

But there are lots of benefits for you too including boosting your CV, training and not to mention building lifelong friendships. The Trefoil Guild is a branch of Girlguiding and its members agree to support the guiding ethos - including the pledge to help other people.

Many members pass on their skills and knowledge to local guiding units, from helping Brownies work towards a badge to preparing older girls for a camping adventure. Many members are unit Leaders or helpers in Girlguiding units. Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK.
