I am using an externally powered USB plug in, no Y cable. So, I don't think it is an underpowered issue. Just to make sure, I plugged it directly into the wall for tests. I didn't post the logs from last night, because I went through them line by line and they seemed to match the earlier logs.
Do to your comment above, I checked the failure log from last night and the lines match what you copied from my earlier log. Which for both of those I confirmed the settings for startup, but if I understand what you are saying It should not be switching to IOS at this point.
It should stay IOS I will see if I can get it to stay. Hi I went through all the tests again. My startup settings have no affect on the logs. Force CIOS is and has been definitely set to no. I had some deep thoughts on what could be the issue and just wanted your take.
Do you know if other people have the latest version of Wiiflow working fine on a vWii? If so one of the things I am doing is using large hard drives. I have a 4TB and a 2TB. I tried both of them. The large hard drives work fine with WiiFlow on the Wii. The thing about that is that you are not even supposed to be able to format large hard drives in FAT32, but there are programs that let you do it anyway.
My thoughts are to do that, maybe these large hard drives have a bad formatting trick that Nintendo fixed in IOS58 for the vWii, but is fine for the Wii. I know there is some sort of boot sector table or something that may or may not be there on large formatted FAT32 drives. I guess my next test would be format a normal reasonable size flash drive with a normal utility like Windows in FAT32 to see how WiiFlow reacts I will do that and see what happens.
I mostly solved this ticket, so you can close it if you want. Here is the story That is what was originally not mounting in WiiFlow. It still did not mount. That too failed. Which is where you see all our correspondence above. It booted fine!!! Unfortunately though it mounted and booted every time I tried to launch a game it black screened. I knew the jump drive had an extremely slow read speed.
So I ordered a 32GB jump drive from Amazon with a fast read speed formatted it in windows and So, bottom line wrapping up. If the read speed is too slow wiiflow will black screen on game launch. Also, there is something wrong with how some of these formatters, format large FAT32 drives. Since technically the supposed limit is 2TB, but most FAT32 formatting programs come no where near to that, there has to be something about the boot sector or table, that IOS58's Wii U version will not play with.
Meanwhile on the Wii's version of IOS58 it does not care. The only curiosity point I have left is what is the biggest drive people have been able to use with Wiiflow on the vWii and how did they format it? If you have answers great, if not I will keep looking. If no comment on that one you can close the ticket. Thanks for the help. I was going directly to WiiFlow, no forwarder.
I did it anyways and it fixed my issue. This fixed it. I needed to do the IOS thing. Basically, the only thing you need to switch is the power cable. When I insert the DVD all the things happen till install game. But then it says size of the game is 0. If I still say install it says the not enough free space. I need help, whenever I start up the usb loader gx my wii controller turns off and doesnt want to sync. I never updated my game collection, i really tempted to but im afraid that it would risk an error like what many people from the forum said when you connecting the softmoded wii to the wifi.
I have several questions:. Is it true if i connect the softmoded wii to the internet will causing any error? Can i still be able to update my games collection? In this regard, i mean add and delete some games.
If yes, then how? Some games installed in my hdd has some messy order name. Will it occur any prob if i rename games? I once tried to connect the hdd to the computer but then shows confirmation request to format my hdd. Should i format it? Does the wii u come with component cables. Red and white for audio red, blue, green for the hd or does that come separate?
I was at wits-end wanting to throw my wii through a brick wall. All the other tutorials on YouTube are absolute garbage hence why it took me days.
I wish I saw your videos first. I want to thank you so much. Well done and thank you again. Can anyone give me a solution and a reason on why my Wii says my SD card is locked when its not? I hacked my wii for a week, but now my usb drive had an error so i needed to delete everything from my usb stick. How can I fix it? This might be a little old but do you have to use a external hardrive or can we use a usb since I have 2.
Mine is taking so much time to install through slot , is that normal? Seems like its frozen or something. You just earned a subscriber! Even the after I installed the specifies CIOs. The 3ds was easier then this and there was more steps in that one this is just ugh. Hi thanks for the video. Want to create a new USB flash drive with a handful of games.. Thanks in advance…. Do what I did. Go to GameStop and buy a used Wii video cable. You can use either the RCA or Component cables.
Just remember to change the display type in the Wii U menu. Hi if you want to use the wii usb microphone in port 1 will this work for it? Or is that something totally different. Thanks in advance. I also own a Cruzer Glide, but it doesnt work on the latest revision. Also, is that a SanDisk Ultra 3. I already knew about the AV cable for the Wii U but the video itself is great.
Thank you for sharing this footage. Is it possible to use the flash drive and sd card vice versa? Meaning I wanna use my Samsung SD card for games and my cheap flash drive for ther homebrew apps.
HDMI is by far the best video source to use as of right now I think. HDMI was brighter and more vivid in color. Please answer asap. I am wanting to know, I want to make a gameplay video for YouTube so. I followed all the instructions in this video? Can anyone help me please? Also, with 1 hand, it was easier to plug the cable in when the ports are on the top. I wonder if there is any difference between wii backup manager and wbfs manager in games installation.
And if there is, what is it? Does anyone know what is the largest size HDD you can use to run your games on? Hey, I have a usb loader and is loaded with games and used to work great. This video is the one where I use the Wii cable on my Wii U. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. Oh and just something you forgot to mention which I think is important. Remove it. Anyways thanks again man. I have a gb drive. I had a. The game shows up on my usb loader gx but it wont play it just boots me back to homebrew.
I tried this with wii sports and pikmin 2, but only pikmin 2 was in usb loader gx, did i do something wrong. This is a tutorial on how to place your wii games on a usb hard drive NOT how to get the wii games themselves. Do you know if this will work on the built-in Wii on the Wii U? Is it possible to install wads for the titles to the wii menu? So that you jump straight into the game without loading usb loader? Near the beginning of the installation, everything freezes.
Can somebody please help? Thanks so much for this tutorial. You explained everything very clearly, and it was easy to follow. One question though, is there a way to add game titles directly to the Wii Channel menu? Switching to channel list mode. You are the best, I spent hours trying to find a good tutorial that works! Very easy to follow and you explain it very clearly, I just got a question.
Can you play downloaded Isos roms from your usb stick? Someone did this for me on my old wii many years ago, but I have a new one and am trying to do this process on my own: I have a bunch of emulators that showed up in the homebrew channel instead of the second one and idk why.
Great info! Thanks a lot! Did you make the voice for Microsoft Sam? U are my hero i tried it with my sd card but my wii console sd card reader didnt work. Also only one of my usb port works so i was searching for a method how i can get thegames and usb loader on same stick and finally it worked with your method.
From where do you get the download for wii games can you pls comment the link for download wii games. I have an hdmi to rca converter p upscaling that I have tried on my wii but when I went to information menu it said p even though wii was set to standard tv i.
I used it on my lg 5. Someone please answer and help me fix this issue. I have tried it with another game too but it does not work. Also on the usb loader menu screen it shows the forecast channel, usb loader and other apps too. Do not know if this is supposed to happen. We need to cover it. Move your pointer to the bottom of the screen and some icons should appear. Choose the one that looks like some gears.
This is the config icon and it will take you to the Main Settings menu. Click on the first option which should be Download Covers. This takes you to a new menu with more options. The only two we need to worry about now are the first two - Download All or Download Missing. The other options will be explained later. To Download all covers click 'All'. Later on if you install some more games you can just choose 'Missing'.
When it's done click on 'BACK' to return to the main screen. Of Course if your Wii isn't connected to the Internet then this won't work for you. You will have to download the covers on your PC and transfer them to the appropriate WiiFlow covers folder. Browse through your games with your wiimote and press 'A' while pointing at the game you want to play.
And then click on the 'PLAY' button to launch the game.
