While Halle had one of the great American business success stories, he also was known for his philanthropic endeavors. Even in helping others, he was more comfortable working behind the scenes. The Diane and Bruce Halle Foundation has supported non-profits focused on art, children and other areas.Halle and his wife, Diane, whom he married in , also received a papal award for supporting the restoration of the pope's private chapel. The Halles traveled to the Vatican and were knighted with the Order of St.Gregory for their contribution to chapel repairs. Stephen Zabilski, executive director of the Society of St. The Halles collected Latin American art and owned the world's largest collection of vintage tire posters, more than , many of which are on display at the company's Scottsdale headquarters.Halle was a model of profound generosity, whose long life was one characterized by a commitment to his values of hard work, determination, self-reliance and an entrepreneurial spirit that drove his success as a self-made man," said Amada Cruz, CEO of Phoenix Art Museum. Halle, she added, will be remembered "for his devotion to his family, strong faith, compassionate commitment to his community, passionate love for the arts and his matchless care for and loyalty to his employees, whom he viewed as an extension of his own family.Halle said he had no business plan when he opened his first tire store in Ann Arbor. After failing to get a couple of ventures off the ground, including a tire- and automobile-accessory business, Halle set up shop in a rented plumbing-supply building. It took three days before he got his first customer and a week before he sold a tire. According to company history, Halle chose the name Discount Tire because it implied customers could get a deal on a tire. He had six tires four of which were retreads and a portable air tank, which he had to fill at a local gas station.Halle was the tire technician, accountant, store computer, sign painter and cleaning crew. Halle said competitors tried to steer customers away from his business by spreading rumors that he sold second-rate retreads. This proprietary technology lets website visitors input details about what and how they drive, providing s a recommendation for the best tire to suit their needs, based on real-world data. Many are surprised to learn that it is the very same tool store associates use, during conversations that help guide customers to the right tires. This feature is one component of a broader online experience that also allows visitors to conduct general research, make appointments, complete transactions, and record basic information. It eliminates the time-consuming steps most automotive consumers are familiar with in a retail setting — reviewing options, providing store associates with line-by-line information, and waiting around while the transaction is completed — all of which have now become a thing of the past. These services help customers save time, while allowing employees to focus on creating an inviting and supportive environment — being there to help with any final questions. How many discount tires are there

We consulted Southern California event diva Julie Pryor of Pryor Events , who offered: "The rule of thumb is 80 percent acceptance, but I caution clients not to ever count on that as it can vary greatly. Some factors to keep in mind are the time of year; the location destinations that are hard to reach typically have a larger percentage of regrets ; and holiday weekends, which can be a difficult time for some people to travel. That said, though you may feel safe extending an invitation to more people than your desired guest count, Julie cautions: "If your space is limited, then by all means do NOT invite people assuming they will not accept. You never know who will end up changing plans and come to your wedding. You may need to put aside a little or a lot of extra cash for that hefty "per person" charge, just in case you get more acceptances than you anticipated. The concept of a "B" list is a controversial one in the wedding biz, but Julie Pryor confesses that, "Some of my clients do a second mailing of invitations after they have gotten regrets back and know how many additional guests they can invite.Service Area: Los Angeles and worldwide. Some clients may have paid to be placed in our editorial and some of these links may be affiliate; however, we never include a venue, vendor, or product unless they have a proper place here. This is part of our Core Values. We create our website first and foremost to be good for the couples using it to plan their Big Day. Decide whether you want little ones there or would prefer an adults-only celebration, and then put your foot down. That means no exceptions. If a friend invited you to her wedding five years ago, you're not obligated to invite her to yours—even if you were a bridesmaid. However, if you attended a wedding in the past 18 months and especially if you or your partner was in the wedding party , that couple should be on your guest list as well. As you try to narrow in on the final guest list, here are a few questions for you and your partner to ask yourselves. Believe it or not, brides and grooms are frequently introduced to people for the first time at their own wedding. This is usually the case with distant relatives and business associates of parents.Stephanie Sica, founder of the PR company Orchard and Broome, knows that curbing family guest lists can be tricky. Lindsey Nickel, owner and event planner at Lovely Day Events , says if you haven't laid eyes on a person in 12 to 18 months—or at least had a nice, long phone conversation if they live far away—then you probably shouldn't invite them. This goes for who you are today and who you will be 10 years from now, not who you were 10 years ago.If you were at their wedding years ago but have lost contact since, you may not need to invite them. Only invite them if you really want the person back in your life.It can be hard to distinguish the present from the future. People who you see every single day for at least eight hours right now may not be in your life long term. Alfano urges against inviting a coworker simply due to proximity. Seeing someone for big life events means they should be included in your wedding—end of story. Eppolito says if you have three cousins but you're only close with two, you should keep the peace and invite all of them. That said, do you want your boss there to witness your open-bar-plus-dance-floor hijinks? Nobody wants a Debbie Downer at their wedding. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed.
